The St. Hallett Shiraz from the Barossa valley is a very, very good value indeed at $15….it has tastes of blackberry, plum and vanilla as well as a touch of peppery taste as well. It’s a Shiraz that is very enjoyable as it is, and the reason I chose it is that I would be most surprised if that wine could be improved. We tested it in the Sonic Decanter and much to my surprise the nuances of the nose and aroma were quite lifted and it was a more enjoyable wine in that respect. But, it was also much more enjoyable on the palate. In fact the Sonic Decanter improved the tannins considerably! It was a much more enjoyable wine to drink! There was a bit more volume in the mouth so it seems to have a bit more length and finish.

Wow! Much softer tannins, much more aromatics than right out of the bottle. Its nice that in a few minutes you have already brought my wine to where I want it to be whereas some people might have to double decant or let it sit for a while…we are going to take this wine to dinner!

It was really interesting we went through the lineup… tasting wine that had just been opened all the way up to wine that had been treated for 10, 15 and 20 minutes. It was interesting to see how the wine flavor and aroma developed with the addition of time. I noticed that the texture of the wine really changed as we went along…became a little smoother…Yes I defiantly noticed the difference.

I tried the Sonic Decanter Just now. I thought that it was an impressive piece of work…that it changes wines in a way that I hadn’t expected! …the treatment makes the wines that have a fair amount of grip…the treatment makes the wine more soft…it makes the wine more gentle, more drinkable for sure! I’ve been in the wine industry for about 25 years. I think the Sonic Decanter will be valuable for people who in particular have opened a bottle of wine tasted it and felt that it was a little too assertive for them...to modify it just enough to make it a little more palatable.

One thing I noticed for sure whether it was an $8 or $25 bottle of wine… there was some significant difference not only in aroma, but mouth feel but also the flavor. Definitely a significant increase in the flavor of the wine! I would definitely recommend the product for anyone who enjoys wine and wants to see the agility of wine. ..the post processed wine with the Sonic Decanter is like one continual aroma or nose there is not individual components…which Is exactly what you would find in an wine that has been in the bottle for 10 or fifteen years!
